.msp is bigger when uncompressing msi

Hi,

I'm generating a patch out of two msi, when uncompressing the msi using the commands of msiexec the output of the msp file is around 2MB. But if I don't do uncompressing first the output file is aroudn 200KB. What is the reason for that and what is the best practice to follow?
