We have a master installer that runs merge module installers selected by the user at runtime. We are trying to figure out the best way to store a version string, including a build number, so a user can easily report it to tech support and our QA team can easily keep track of what they're testing.
How do you folks do something like this? Do you just rely on versions stored in the ZeroG registry file? Or do you write the information to a file in the installation directory? I would appreciate your feedback.
