Is there anyway to add prerequisites to an Installshield Patch

Is there anyway to add a prerequisite to an Install shield "Patch". I need to be able to add .NET Framework 4.0 as a prerequisite for the Patch update.exe. It seems you can only add prerequisites if they were already part of the MSI that is being patched.
